Hazel is 3 Months!!

And, as beautiful as ever!!  This little girl is so wonderful to be around.  Just like her brother, she always finds my camera and stares right through it.  The eyes on these two are piercing and I always feel like they know more than I do…they probably do!!  As always, this family portrait session was such a joy :)

Enjoy!!

The First Year with Lucas!

Oh, how I love making these books for my clients!  The first year with your baby is like no other.  Especially, if it’s your first baby.  Everyday is full of change and watching your baby grow is one of the most amazing things ever!  When my daughter was born, I remember someone telling me that time with a new baby was “the longest days, the quickest months”.  And, that was so true.  The days can seem endless – you’re usually exhausted, overwhelmed and completely confused.  But, all of sudden, a month has passed and you’re less exhausted, less overwhelmed but probably still as confused ;)  You have no idea where that month went and remembering how tiny his hands were is nearly impossible.

I created these books to give that time back to the parents but even more, to give that time back to the kids.  Babies spend their first years surrounded by love, adoration and devotion.  Those memories will stay somewhere inside them but they can’t access them.  I’m hoping these books will help.  How awesome would it be to have a book that told you the story of your life when you were a baby.  To see what your parents looked like, how they held you, what your days were like.  I would LOVE it!  And, I absolutely love giving them to my clients.

I was fortunate enough to photograph this Mom & Dad on their wedding day – the start of it all!  I was so excited when they told me they were having a little one.  They’re such a wonderful couple and I couldn’t wait to see them as parents – I knew they were going to rock it!  And, they absolutely have!  Lucas has such a sweet little life and I was honored to spend a little time in it every few months.  His smile is infectious and his little spirit is so special.  I love this kid!!

I’m so excited to share this book with you!!  Enjoy :)

Meet Hazel!

She’s absolutely perfect!!   And, almost as cool as her big bro…you all know him from his many appearances here.  I was so excited when Hazel’s mom and dad let me know that there was a new little one on the way.  I always looked so forward to my sessions with them and now they get to keep on going!!

I feel so fortunate to be asked to create family portraits – there’s nothing better than family and the relationships I get to watch & document are always inspiring and touching.  This session was no exception!

Watching Hazel with her mommy was the most calming thing in the world.

As I was helping her fall asleep, it was all I could do to not curl up with and sleep with her.  She was just so snuggly and warm!

Thank you, little Miss Hazel for arriving – you are an absolute joy!!

They’re getting so big!

I started photographing this family right before their beautiful Maggie was born!  It’s always crazy fun to visit their wonderful home.  It’s so full of love & joy – I always leave in a great mood, wanting to go home and play with my family.  The little ones crack me up – such characters and still so sweet.  I’m absolutely honored to preserve these memories for them!  Enjoy!

First Year with Sam – A What Was it Like Book

When I was 21, my Grandma handed me a photo album that contained images from my first day home through my first 21 years.  It is an absolutely cherished gift and was my inspiration in becoming my clients little “historian”.   I have such an appreciation of the little moments and details that make life beautiful.  Freezing these moments and handing them back to my clients is one of my greatest joys.  When Sam’s mom and dad were shown the proof version of this book, we all had tears in our eyes by the end.

I’m overjoyed to share the results of an amazing year of documentary photography with you all!  I had so much fun capturing this unique and special time for this family.  Please enjoy (especially the little surprise at the end ;)

The First Year with Sam!

As most of you know, I’ve been fortunate enough to create a time capsule for this wonderful family!  I met Sam when he was only a few weeks old and got to photograph him throughout his entire first year.  We’ve preserved precious moments and memories that are absolutely priceless.  Almost all of these images have captured a milestone or something special that this family wants to always remember.  They celebrate the beautiful every day life that this little guy lives and showcases how much he’s grown.  This is the reason I love photography – keeping these memories alive for mom and dad and knowing that when he’s all grown up, his parents can hand him back memories of one of the most perfect times in his life.  These really are the days to hold close and I’m so honored that I was able to do that for his family.   Enjoy!!

Big Tent Bday!

As most of you know, I’ve been fortunate enough to create a time capsule of Sam’s first year.  I have absolutely loved watching him grow up and recording all his perfectly adorable milestones.   His parents celebrated his 1st year by throwing a rockin party with the cutest decorations ever!!  From the jumpee to the cotton candy to the popcorn machine…those kids were in heaven!

Lucas is 3 Months!

Another awesome family with a Time Capsule package…I’m addicted to these guys!!  In fact, I’ve been waiting for this little guy since I photographed his parents wedding many years ago.  I’m so excited to spend his first year with them!!  This “day in life” session was full of tummy time, tickles and talking.  This boy can talk (and smile…I don’t know how he lifts those cheeks so easily but it’s hard to find him not smiling).  When daddy got home, Lucas filled him in on their day.  Oh, and don’t forget the nursing.  This little guy LOVES eating – as all healthy little guys should.  Such precious, beautiful moments for Lucas and his Mama!  Daddy, too…I always love seeing how in awe dad’s can be when watching their wife nurture their baby.  Perfect!!

Enjoy!

Sam’s 9 Months!

I have been fortunate enough to document this little cutie since he was just a few weeks old!  His awesome (and super fun) parents picked out one of my Time Capsule family portrait packages and I get to hang out with them every few months to capture all his little changes and their life just as it is…perfect!  This session was full of milestones and memories and delivered some wonderful images that Sam will so love in 20 years!!  I’m always telling parents that portraits of just your kids are for the parents, family portraits are for your little ones…so they can see the precious life they lived before they could remember.  How much would you give to have an images like these from when you were tiny?

Enjoy a little glimpse into Sam’s perfect life :)

Welcome, Skylar!
