Lucas is 3 Months!


Another awesome family with a Time Capsule package…I’m addicted to these guys!!  In fact, I’ve been waiting for this little guy since I photographed his parents wedding many years ago.  I’m so excited to spend his first year with them!!  This “day in life” session was full of tummy time, tickles and talking.  This boy can talk (and smile…I don’t know how he lifts those cheeks so easily but it’s hard to find him not smiling).  When daddy got home, Lucas filled him in on their day.  Oh, and don’t forget the nursing.  This little guy LOVES eating – as all healthy little guys should.  Such precious, beautiful moments for Lucas and his Mama!  Daddy, too…I always love seeing how in awe dad’s can be when watching their wife nurture their baby.  Perfect!!

Sam’s 9 Months!


I have been fortunate enough to document this little cutie since he was just a few weeks old!  His awesome (and super fun) parents picked out one of my Time Capsule family portrait packages and I get to hang out with them every few months to capture all his little changes and their life just as it is…perfect!  This session was full of milestones and memories and delivered some wonderful images that Sam will so love in 20 years!!  I’m always telling parents that portraits of just your kids are for the parents, family portraits are for your little ones…so they can see the precious life they lived before they could remember.  How much would you give to have an images like these from when you were tiny?

Now booking mini family portrait sessions with ridiculously beautiful custom designed holiday cards!   Sessions can be done at your location of choice (as long as it’s within 20 miles of Sebastopol ;) or at our NEW California Christmas local in Sebastopol!  Yep, 1 gorgeous sunny field lined with large “christmas trees” that are ready for your favorite decorations or props.  Or, use our decorations..we’re working on some simple, cute & classy ones!!

Introducing….The What Was it Like Book!!


The What Was it Like book was inspired by my daughter, Anika.

She loves to ask “what was it like when I was yiddle?”

 I tell her all about our daily rituals like our walks to the town square and how she could never get enough “itsy bitsy spider”.  How she loved watching football snuggled in the crook of her daddy’s arm and how she ran away screaming every time I turned the vacuum on.  She can’t hear enough about the time she doesn’t quite remember and I thought it’d be awesome to have a story book with all these wonderful little details and images.

Play Date!


What a wonderful idea!  Sarah of Sarah’s Silks and Hillary of Yellow Label Kids put on a super fun play date where kiddos could try out their products.  They went crazy…in the good way :)   I honestly don’t remember much…it was such a whirlwind of super cute kids to photograph that I had to sit for awhile after ;) .  Then I got to play with all the goodies to see what all the buzz was about.   They weren’t overreacting…these toys are COOL.  Both companies are owned by local mompreneurs and their products are all extremely well made from natural fibers and produced in a socially conscience manner (say that 5 times fast ;) .  They’re wonderful women offering an exception product that every kid should have!  I mean it, every single one…so go get yours :)

Introducing…the little troopers session!


When my son was born, his perfect little feet turned all the way in.  We thought he was just a bit crammed and needed to stretch out (he was 10.5 lbs, after all).  But, when we found out he had a condition that needed extensive treatment, our whole world stopped.  We were fortunate though, Dylan only had club foot.  A diagnosable, treatable condition that shouldn’t affect his later life.

Taking him to all his treatments opened my eyes (and heart) to the little troopers and their families that are made to endure much more than they should.  Every trip to the hospital showed me little faces full of joy…seemingly unaware of the difficulties their little body was dealing with.  And, parents with the tell tale worry lines, sense of complete exhaustion and expression of pride as they watched their child overcoming their challenges.

Somewhere along the way, I decided that these families deserved some free stuff!  I can’t smooth the rough road they’re on but I can give them portraits that celebrate the wonderful life that their child is living!

If you know a Little Trooper, please send me an email letting me know about their journey.  Also, please help me in spreading the word on these sessions so deserving families can benefit.

Little Trooper sessions are completely free and include full resolution digital negatives.  In most cases, families should live within 30 miles of Sebastopol but I can make special arrangements for travel, if needed.  I make myself as available as possible, but can typically only schedule 1-2 sessions per month.

Merry Mini’s are Here!!


I’ve opened up 10 slots for your holiday mini sessions!  And, found some beautiful, original and fun cards to customize for your family.  I apologize for the short notice but it was either this or wait until December (didn’t think that’d work too well).

The Merry Mini’s will be 30-40 minutes and leave you with at least 10 great images.  The collections start at $120 and include 25 gorgeous (and super cool) flat cards with envelopes.  To upgrade to a folded card, you just add $15 per qty of 25.  Full list of collections can be found below after the card samples.

First sessions are scheduled for this Saturday (9/18) at 9, 10 and 11 am.  Then again next Saturday (9/25) and one more weekend in October (10/23 and 10/24).  Sessions are first come, first serve.  To purchase yours, go to

Although I’ll do a little lifestyle magic at your Merry Mini, it’s not the focus.  So, your session can be held in your home or another location you like better (park, etc).  The images will be awesome but styled more for cards than lifestyle art.

Cards will be delivered to you by November 15th (if not earlier).  There will be many more cards to choose from (7 more, to be exact) but I was in such a hurry to get the dates up that I haven’t had time to get them formatted for you to see.  I’ll have them up tomorrow though :)
